Medusa Table Lamp by Oluce – Elegant Italian Designer Lighting

The Medusa table lamp by Oluce, designed by Andrea Quaglio and Manuela Simonelli (Quaglio-Simonelli), is a refined piece of modern Italian designer lighting that combines sculptural design with soft ambient illumination.

The concept is based on a simple yet striking idea: a metal dome integrated within a glass cylinder. The dome houses the light source, while the glass cylinder gently diffuses the light onto the surface below, creating a warm and atmospheric glow ideal for stylish interiors.

Medusa cleverly reinterprets the traditional relationship between lamp base and lampshade. Instead of supporting the shade, the glass cylinder encloses the light source. The metal dome appears to float inside the cylinder thanks to a subtle glass fold, resulting in a clean and sophisticated aesthetic.

The electrical cable becomes part of the visual design as it descends freely from the center of the diffuser. Reflections in the glass create the impression that the cable gently sways, adding a sense of lightness and elegance to the lamp.
